About
Hardwood Habitat has been building fine custom cabinetry, furniture and millwork for the past 35 years. Brothers Doug and Adam Chamorro started their company from a passion for woodworking. As boys, Doug and Adam learned the art of cabinet and furniture making from their father. Doug spent summers in Santa Barbara furthering his craft with family friend and well-known furniture designer Stan Rifle. These learned skills and dedication to quality are evident in Hardwood Habitat’s work.
Fully licensed as a cabinet and millwork contractor (C-5) and as a general contractor (B), Hardwood Habitat operates out of a 10,000 square foot facility in Gardena, California. Here they blend their traditional woodworking know-how with modern day technologies. Their team builds all projects onsite, and the use of a CNC router brings an increased level of accuracy, productivity and innovation. All phases of a project are managed from estimates to detailed shop drawings and from manufacturing to final delivery and installation. An open line of communication and regular on-sight visits maintain their high standard of quality and keeps them involved in a project’s progress.
Hardwood Habitat can build most anything – custom mantles, doors, gates, coffered ceilings, specialty paneling, wine racks and distinctive furniture pieces both free-standing and built-in, to name a few. They stay current on new technologies, products, design details, as well as specifications and requirements for plumbing fixtures, audio/video components and electronics as it pertains to cabinetry. Hardwood Habitat also builds with a range of materials including many sustainable products and are frequently asked to work with metal, stone, glass and laminates.
With their variety of projects – modern to traditional, large to small, from Los Angeles to New York, Montana to Hawaii – Hardwood Habitat has built a solid reputation among architects, contractors, designers and homeowners alike for beautiful custom cabinetry and woodworking of the highest quality.
